A specialist in the field of cardiothoracic surgery, Prof. Raanani is a graduate of the Sackler School of Medicine at the Tel Aviv University.
1991-1998: Cardiothoracic residency at the Rabin Medical Center.
1998-2000: Clinical fellowship in cardiac surgery at the University of Toronto with Prof. Tirone David. In Toronto, Prof. Raanani specialized mainly in surgical repair of aneurysms and the aorta, as well as complex surgical repair of heart valves.
Upon his return in 2001 he established the Aortic Surgery Unit at Rabin Medical Center.
In January 2004 he was appointed Head of Cardiac Surgery at the Sheba Medical Center, Tel Hashomer.
Prof. Ehud Raanani is an active supervisor and lecturer at the Faculty of Medicine at the Tel Aviv University, and has published over 100 articles in international medical journals and several chapters in cardiac surgery books.
Prof. Raanani served as Chairman of the Israeli Association for Cardiothoracic Surgery between the years 2005-2008 and is currently a member of several European and American societies in the field of cardiac surgery. Furthermore, he is responsible for many clinical and laboratory researches in the field of cardiac surgery.
