A specialist in the field of cardiothoracic surgery, Dr. Sternik is a graduate of the Moscow School of Medicine and of the Sackler School of Medicine at the Tel Aviv University.
He specialized in cardiothoracic surgery at the Sheba Medical Center, Tel Hashomer.
1999-2001: Clinical fellowship at the Mayo Clinic at Rochester, USA.
In 2003 he established, together with Prof. Raanani, the Surgical Care Unit for Atrial Fibrillation at the Sheba Medical Center. The unit also serves as a Center for European Studies in the Surgical Treatment of Atrial Fibrillation.
Dr. Sternik lectures at the Tel Aviv University and overseas, and has received an honorary professorship from the Cardiac Surgery Center in Perm, Russia, and from the Medical School in Perm. Dr. Sternik has published many articles in international medical journals, and is responsible for various clinical and laboratory researches in the cardiac surgery field.
